If you are using it yourself and just using a piano keyboard as a controller you are missing out on some of the great things you can do live. It can become very cumbersome going back and forth to your computer to set which samples you want to use or trigger a new loop in a song. There are other options that you can use as a controller. The APC 40 is basically a controller with buttons, knobs and faders that simulates the screen on Ableton Live.
